Music idioms

Expressions related to people and communication are an essential part of everyday Spanish. Phrases like “to be the leader” are used to describe someone who takes the lead or makes decisions within a group. “To be on the same wavelength” expresses agreement and a good connection between people, while “to set the pace” refers to someone who guides an activity or situation. We also find expressions like “to change one’s tone,” used when someone modifies their attitude or way of speaking during a conversation. On the other hand, “to be number one” highlights someone who is the best or most important in a particular field. Finally, “to touch someone’s heartstrings” means to deeply move them. These expressions are very useful for Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) students, as they help them understand real conversations and communicate more naturally, enriching their vocabulary and improving their fluency in different social and cultural contexts.
